Sat twitching all afternoon in London, eventually a phone call swayed it and I bunked off at 4. Good decision! Got to Hayling about 7, it was wild - rigged up the 4m and my 68 quatro, looked at the waves on the bar, they looked lovely; then I saw the tip of a mast poking out from behind one of them, which put it in perspective, I'd never seen stuff like that on the South Coast before....
We stayed out for about 2 glorious hrs, not the best sailing display as I was clinging on for dear life, but with a smile on my face...had a few big 'let go of the kit at the top of the jump' scenarios, resulting in a long swim to retrieve battered kit. All in all still happy, it's the first sail I've had since moving down here in April and long overdue - perhaps sometime in the next 6 months I'll get to take out something other than my 4m....
